Ceremony and opening of the spa treatment area „Spa Nouveau“
Double milestone for the health resort: With the official designation as a Kneipp spa and the simultaneous opening of the new spa treatment area „Spa Nouveau“ in the Sprudelhof Therme, Bad Nauheim underlines its role as a leading health resort in the region.
Bad Nauheim has held the title of Kneipp spa town since 2011. With its current upgrade to Kneipp health resort, this tradition is being consistently continued. The highlight of the ceremony on Friday, April 24th, in the Kleukens Lounge in Bathhouse 2 was the official presentation of the certificate of recognition by Hesse's Minister of Economic Affairs, Kaweh Mansoori, to Mayor Klaus Kreß – in front of approximately 80 invited guests from politics, healthcare, tourism, and the local community. Furthermore, Bad Nauheim was recertified as a mineral thermal spa during the event – further proof of the high quality of the local natural healing resources.
Minister Mansoori sees the health and business location strengthened
„The designation of Bad Nauheim as a Kneipp spa town is a boon for Hesse as a health and economic hub. Bad Nauheim impressively demonstrates how scientifically sound health services, natural resources, and Hessian hospitality can work together. I offer my heartfelt congratulations and look forward to the health-promoting effects that will have an impact far beyond the region, throughout Hesse,“ Mansoori declared at the certificate presentation.
Holistic strategy for a future-proof health city
Mayor Kreß emphasized the strategic importance: „Kneipp's health philosophy is more important today than ever and a central component of our strategy to further develop Bad Nauheim as an innovative health resort. Kneipp in the age of AI, telemedicine, and smart health is not a contradiction, but rather an opportunity to intelligently combine evidence, prevention, and individual lifestyle choices – building the future on tradition. We have been working towards the upgrade to Kneipp spa town status for years. My special thanks go to the members of the Kneipp Association Bad Nauheim – Friedberg – Bad Salzhausen, led by their chairman Dr. Lutz Ehnert, for their expertise, commitment, and tremendous dedication.“
Bad Nauheim brine and Kneipp therapy combine
In his presentation, Kneipp and spa physician Dr. Lutz Ehnert emphasized the professional approach: „With this upgrade, Bad Nauheim joins the elite of spa towns. At the same time, we have succeeded in consistently combining the Bad Nauheim brine with Kneipp therapy. The five pillars – water, exercise, nutrition, medicinal plants, and a balanced lifestyle – unfold a special power, especially in times of ubiquitous acceleration.“
Therapies in a unique Art Nouveau setting
With "Spa Nouveau," a new spa treatment area has opened in the historic Bathhouse 2, combining a unique Art Nouveau ambiance with evidence-based therapy. The new therapy center covers 160 square meters and offers baths with Bad Nauheim brine, Kneipp hydrotherapy (including showers, arm and foot baths), physiotherapy treatments, manual therapies, and massages. Target groups include spa guests undergoing outpatient preventative care in Bad Nauheim according to § 23 SGB V (German Social Code, Book V), as well as self-paying patients who have been prescribed brine baths by spa physicians or are undergoing a Kneipp cure. "With 'Spa Nouveau,' Bad Nauheim is strengthening its preventative and therapeutic capabilities. Spa guests and patients alike benefit from tailored treatments that combine traditional spa expertise with contemporary methods," explains Steffen Schneider, Head of the Spa and Service Department.
Futurist provides impetus
The Kneipp spa status and the opening of "Spa Nouveau" set important milestones for the city's further development. Bad Nauheim is sharpening its profile in the competition among health and tourism destinations, combining its historical spa tradition with innovation. Specifically, pathways to digital and customer-centric services are already being initiated, and current trends such as longevity are being consciously integrated as new building blocks in the health resort's offerings. Since health is a significant economic factor in Bad Nauheim, the city will not rest on its laurels after receiving the certification: At the end of the event, decision-makers and those responsible received inspiring suggestions for upcoming projects and challenges from futurologist Oliver Leisse's keynote address on the future of the healthcare sector.
